THE SHORT VERSION
- We collect what DesignDog needs to work: your account details, your Brand Memory and the briefs you speak or type.
- Your brand assets and briefs are used to make your designs. We never sell your personal information.
- Service providers, including the AI models that power DesignDog, get only what they need to do that job for us.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information at any time.
01
Who we are
DesignDog is built and run by Kimp ("Kimp", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the DesignDog website and app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Kimp, at 169 Enterprise Blvd, Markham, Ontario, Canada, is responsible for the personal information described here. If your organisation invited you to a shared workspace, it decides who can see the brands and designs in that workspace.
02
What we collect
We collect information you give us, information created when you use DesignDog, and a little technical information from your browser:
- Account details: your name, email address and company. If you sign in with single sign-on, the basic profile your provider shares with us.
- Brand Memory: the logos, colours, fonts, brand books, inspiration images, tone and standing instructions you add.
- Briefs and voice: what you type and, when you tap the mic, the audio of your request and its transcript.
- Designs and sessions: the designs you generate, the versions and changes you ask for, your approvals and the cost of each design.
- Billing: your plan, credit purchases and billing contact. Card details are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and diagnostic logs that help us keep DesignDog running.
- Messages: anything you send us, such as support requests or a waitlist sign-up.
03
How we use it
- To run DesignDog: turn your briefs into designs that follow your Brand Memory.
- To keep your account secure: send sign-in links, verify single sign-on and detect abuse or fraud.
- To bill you: charge the platform fee, top up credits and show the cost of every design.
- To improve the product: understand, in aggregate, which features people use and where they get stuck.
- To talk to you: service emails, replies to your questions and launch news you've asked for. Marketing email is optional and every message has an unsubscribe link.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax records and responding to lawful requests.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving a secure service, your consent (for optional marketing) and compliance with the law.
04
How AI fits in
DesignDog uses third-party AI models to transcribe your voice, plan your designs and generate images. To produce a design, we send the provider the brief, the transcript and the parts of your Brand Memory that design needs.
Inspiration images and approved designs are taste references for your own designs. They are never shown to other customers.
06
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we need to keep some of it for legal, tax or accounting reasons, or to resolve disputes.
07
Keeping it safe
We use encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so if you think someone has accessed your account, contact us straight away.
08
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information
- export your information in a portable format
- restrict or object to how we use it
- stop sending you marketing email, at any time
To make a request, email info@kimp.io from the address on your account. We reply within the time the law requires. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
09
International transfers
Kimp and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. When we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10
Children
DesignDog is for businesses and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
12
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
